“Never, never, never give up.” – Winston Churchill
I am a positive person by nature. At least I try to be. One who is not easily swayed by challenges or obstacles in my way.
But I am only human. And there are still days that I want to give up. I want to throw in the towel and not worry about working toward my dreams and goals. But I don’t.
Because even though my goals and dreams seem like they are still out of reach, I believe in myself enough to keep at them. I know that with hard work and persistence, I can do anything.
Because I am showing my daughter what can be done when you work at something with all of your might.
And I know I won’t be fulfilled if I don’t pursue my passion. And life is too dang short to not pursue your passion.
I know that as a busy mom in all varieties it is really easy to feel overwhelmed. To feel like your dreams/goals are not worth pursuing because it seems like it is so far out of reach. Or maybe even because you now have the role of mom, your kids should come before you and your goals.
While your kids are incredibly important, pursuing your dream is not selfish. It is actually loving toward yourself and it teaches your kids valuable lessons about hard work and sacrifice.
So, if you are feeling like you want to give up on your goals, then here are 4 reasons why you should never give up on a dream that is important to you.

4 Reasons to Never Give Up on Your Dream
1. Life is About Commitment, Not Talk
I have dreams that have lived in my imagination for quite some time, whereas others are newer. When I was first toying with the idea of dedicating myself to my dreams and trying to make them a reality, it was scary.
First, because it had become almost comfortable to have my dreams live in my imagination.
Second, my dreams are overly ambitious. Well, not to me, but to others, yes.
Third, I have a lot of naysayers in my life. Even family members that don’t believe in me or my ability to achieve my dreams.
But I realized that I can think and talk about my dreams all day long, but that is not going to make it become a reality. So, I committed to putting them into practice.
2. Giving Up Can Become a Habit
It is never easy to pursue your dreams. It will be fraught with challenges and obstacles. Sometimes because of other people. Sometimes because of you. And sometimes because that is the nature of life.
If you get in the habit of giving up when the going gets tough and what matters the most to you, then you are more likely to give up every time things don’t go the way that you hoped.
If you give up, then you won’t learn persistence. And everything worthwhile requires persistence.
Even small steps toward your dreams take you one step closer to accomplishing them.
3. You Learn Resilience and Adaptation
Whenever you are trying to put your dreams and goals into action, there will be challenges, disappointments, setbacks, and failures.
These aren’t meant to be avoided. They are actually good for you. There is so much to learn from the challenges, disappointments, setbacks, and failures you will face on your way.
You will learn what not to do.
You will learn how to adapt and be flexible.
You will learn critical lessons that could only be learned from these hardships.
There is incredible value in failure. Failure should not be feared or avoided. It should be embraced. Because it means you are that much closer to success.
I have experienced many setbacks and hurdles in the pursuit of my dreams. Some small. Some odd. Some seemingly insurmountable. But every time I have figured out how to get past it. Not always fast. But I get through it.
As an example of a hurdle, there have been times in building my online business where I haven’t been able to use a laptop or a computer because of internet issues. So, I have been forced by my mobile phone to work on what I need too.
I can actually do most projects on my phone. Some aren’t possible and I have to wait until a computer is available to me. But the ones that I can do are tricky and a little more tedious on a tiny screen. But definitely doable.
4. Self-Belief is Everything
Giving up on your goals is in essence giving up on yourself.
You are a unique person with your own strengths and talents.
You have dreams that are wanting to be realized.
And only you can make your dream happen in your own specific way.
I am still fighting tooth and nail to make my dreams happen. I am getting closer and closer to making them a reality. Every bit of progress is adding up.
I have learned that believing in yourself is a must because you might fond that believes in you or thinks you have gone crazy because your dream is not their dream.
I have learned that it is more important to walk the walk rather than talk the talk. Because that only gets you so far or nowhere.
I have learned from observing others that giving up is easier and before you know it, giving up is all you do.
I have learned that through failure you learn how to adapt and become resilient.
You are capable of accomplishing amazing things. Your dreams are worthy to be realized. So go make them happen. You got this.
